The CEO of The Mindful AI Lab, an Indian AI startup, Suchana Seth, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering her four-year-old son. The arrest took place in the Chitradurga district of Karnataka state when Seth was returning from Goa.
The child’s body was discovered in her luggage during a police check. Seth had checked into a hotel with her son in Goa on Saturday but left alone on Monday night. Hotel cleaning staff found bloodstains in the room after her departure, prompting the police to investigate.
Seth, currently in custody, could not be reached for comment, and it is unknown if she has legal representation. The startup’s staff has not provided comments on the situation.
The police are coordinating with Seth’s husband, who is in Indonesia, and have requested his presence in India. The court has remanded Seth to six days in police custody. Further details on the case are under investigation.
