Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong paid a visit to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in Islamabad, where he, along with Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Syrus Sajjad Qazi, inaugurated a special section dedicated to the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) at the MOFA library.
During the visit, Vice Foreign Minister Weidong reiterated the strong bond between China and Pakistan, referring to Pakistan as China’s “iron brother” and a trusted friend. He stressed the importance of Pakistan in China’s foreign policy, expressing the desire to further enhance strategic ties between the two nations.

Vice Foreign Minister Weidong expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s unwavering support on China’s core issues and reassured Pakistan of China’s continuous support regarding its sovereignty and territorial integrity. He emphasized that China stands ready to assist Pakistan in areas of economy, progress, and development, underscoring the enduring partnership between the two countries.
In response, Pakistan’s Foreign Secretary Qazi thanked the Chinese Vice Foreign Minister, emphasizing the complete political, institutional, and public support that China enjoys in Pakistan. He highlighted the essential role of friendly relations in ensuring regional peace and stability, expressing Pakistan’s eagerness to strengthen cooperation in various areas.
