The latest release of millions of new files related to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein came as a relief to Eminem fans after learning that the documents had no mention of Marshall Mathers.
These files were released by the US Justice Department on Friday. They included mentions of many prominent figures in politics, business, and entertainment, including rapper Jay-Z.
During recent online protests against ICE crackdowns in Minneapolis, which resulted in two deaths, Eminem was accused of being mentioned in the documents by Donald Trump supporters who shared old videos showing Eminem’s alter ego, Slim Shady, attacking Republican politician Mike Tyson.
Some claims referenced a “Marshall” in the documents but this was not Marshall Mathers, also known as Eminem. The rapper’s name did not appear in these files.
Epstein had been found hanged in his jail cell in 2019; while his death was ruled a suicide, it has sparked years of conspiracy theories, some of which Trump himself amplified to supporters during his 2024 campaign.
