Government Directs Ministries to Surrender Unused Funds by May 15

The government has instructed all ministries to surrender any unspent funds by May 15th, a move aimed at addressing financial pressures, according to sources within the Ministry of Finance.

The deadline for fund surrender, previously set for May 31, 2024, was brought forward by the Ministry of Finance, emphasizing the urgency of the situation in a letter distributed to all ministries and divisions.

Federal Secretaries of various ministries have been notified of the directive, with Principal Accounting Officers tasked with promptly updating the Budget Wing on the status of funds.
