The federal government announced a reduction of Rs. 10.20 per liter in the price of petrol on Friday, a day ahead of the scheduled fortnightly review of petroleum prices.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the price of high-speed diesel will also be reduced by Rs. 2.33 per liter.
Typically, changes in fuel prices are announced by the Ministry of Finance on the 15th and last day of each month. However, the prime minister has directed this cut to be implemented a day earlier.
