Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has declined to meet with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) team regarding a contentious post on his social media account.
Sources reveal that the FIA team visited Adiala Jail for investigation, where Imran Khan submitted a written response stating his refusal to engage in discussion without legal representation.
PTI spokesperson Rauf Hasan acknowledged Imran Khan’s lack of awareness regarding the controversial post and suggested that internal party investigation should be conducted.
Hasan further disclosed that Imran Khan’s social media account operates from abroad, adding a layer of complexity to the investigation.
On May 30, the FIA initiated an investigation into the sharing of a video attributed to Sheikh Mujib-ur-Rehman from Imran Khan’s social media account. Notable party members including Omar Ayub, Gauhar Ali Khan, and Rauf Hasan are slated for questioning in connection with the probe.
The investigation extends to determining the circumstances surrounding the sharing of the video from Imran Khan’s account while also addressing the issue of banning the former prime minister’s social media account.
