Iran has announced sanctions on multiple American and British individuals and entities for their alleged support of Israel during its conflict with the Palestinian militant group Hamas.
The Islamic Republic, a longstanding adversary of Israel, revealed these punitive measures through a statement from its foreign ministry.
Among the targeted individuals are seven Americans, including General Bryan P. Fenton, commander of the US Special Operations Command, and Vice Admiral Brad Cooper, a former commander of the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet. British officials and entities under scrutiny include Secretary of State for Defence Grant Shapps, British Army Strategic Command’s James Hockenhull, and the UK Royal Navy in the Red Sea.
Additionally, US firms Lockheed Martin and Chevron, along with their British counterparts Elbit Systems, Parker Meggitt, and Rafael UK, have also been penalized.

According to the ministry, these sanctions involve the blocking of accounts and transactions in Iran’s financial and banking systems, as well as the freezing of assets within Iran’s jurisdiction. Moreover, visa issuance and entry into Iranian territory for the sanctioned individuals and entities have been prohibited.
The full extent of the impact of these measures on the targeted individuals, entities, and their dealings with Iran remains uncertain.
The conflict in the Gaza Strip escalated following an October 7 attack by Palestinian militants on Israel, resulting in the deaths of 1,170 people, predominantly civilians, according to figures from the AFP based on official Israeli data.
While Iran supports Hamas, it denies direct involvement in the attack.
Israel’s subsequent retaliatory offensive against Hamas has claimed the lives of at least 34,568 people in Gaza, with the majority being women and children, as reported by the health ministry of the Hamas-controlled territory.
