Iran Warns US to ‘Step Aside’ as it Prepares to Attack Israel

Iran issues a stern warning to the United States in response to a suspected Israeli airstrike targeting the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria.

In post on X, formerly Twitter, the Iranian president’s deputy chief of staff for political affairs, told the US to “step aside so you won’t get hit” and warned Washington not fall into Prime Minister Netanyahu’s “trap”.

Amid escalating tensions, Iran vows retaliation at a funeral for the seven officers killed in the attack, with demonstrators chanting anti-Israel and anti-America slogans.

As tensions rise, the US reportedly braces for potential Iranian retaliation, heightening security measures in the region. An American official indicates the possibility of an attack targeting Israeli or American assets within the coming week.

CNN reported that the US is on high alert and is preparing for a “significant” response from Iran against Israeli or American targets in the region. The network cited an unnamed US official.

The airstrike hit the Iranian consulate in Damascus, killing at least seven Iranians, including two generals.
