Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, is set to arrive in Islamabad tonight for a one-day visit.
According to sources, during his stay in Pakistan, the Iranian Foreign Minister is expected to meet with his Pakistani counterpart, Caretaker Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani. Both foreign ministers may also hold discussions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, with a joint press conference likely to follow their meeting.
It has been further reported that the Iranian Foreign Minister’s visit includes anticipated meetings with senior Pakistani leadership. Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani.
It is worth noting that Pakistani Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani extended the invitation for the visit to the Iranian counterpart during a telephone conversation on January 19th.
