IT Minister Approves Rs. 4.7 Billion Funds for USF Projects

Minister of State for IT and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, led the 49th Universal Service Fund (USF) Policy Committee meeting, authorizing the release of Rs. 4.7 billion for USF initiatives. The meeting, held at the Ministry of IT, also saw the presence of Secretary IT, Captain (Retd) Muhammad Mahmood.

During the session, the committee received updates on the progress of ongoing USF projects, which currently stand at 33, including 23 4G projects and 10 Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) initiatives.

Earlier, Minister of State for IT, Shaza Fatima, chaired the 43rd Ignite Policy Committee meeting, where approval was granted for releasing Rs. 318.88 million as the 4th quarter budget for Ignite projects.
