The Consulate of Italy in Karachi marked the 9th edition of Italian Design Day (IDD) 2025, an initiative by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the role of design in addressing social and environmental challenges. This year’s theme, “Inequalities: Design for a Better Life,” aligns with the Triennale di Milano International Exhibition, reinforcing design’s impact on global well-being.
Italian Consul in Karachi, Fabrizio Bielli, welcomed attendees, stressing design’s transformative role in reducing inequalities. He emphasized Italy’s “Diplomacy for Growth” initiative, led by Minister Antonio Tajani, which promotes Italian design as a global symbol of excellence and innovation.
The event unveiled an exclusive preview of Pakistan’s Pavilion at the Venice Biennale for Architecture 2025. Presented by Coalesce Design Studio and MAS Architects, the exhibit, titled “Fragile Systems,” explores the impact of climate change and social disparities on urban development, advocating for a sustainable, culturally rooted architectural approach.
