Jazz, Pakistan’s leading digital operator, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with DeafTawk, a global leader in accessible communication solutions, to promote inclusivity and enhance accessibility for the deaf community. This collaboration reaffirms Jazz’s commitment to fostering a more inclusive society through innovative solutions and transformative programs.
The collaboration aims to empower individuals with hearing impairments through innovative solutions and create an inclusive customer experience. Under the MoU, the DeafTawk Plus app will be integrated into Jazz’s customer care centers nationwide, enabling deaf individuals to access real-time sign language interpretation services. When a deaf customer visits a Jazz facility, they will be seamlessly connected to a qualified interpreter via a tablet or device.
This ensures effective communication for deaf customers seeking customer support and enables Jazz’s branch staff to better serve these individuals without reliance on intermediaries.
Speaking about the partnership, Kazim Mujtaba, President Consumer Division at Jazz, said, “At Jazz, inclusivity is at the heart of everything we do. Our partnership with DeafTawk underscores our commitment to ensuring that no one is left behind in the digital age. By leveraging innovative solutions, we aim to foster a society that values diversity, equity, and inclusion.”
Ali Shabbar, Founder and CEO of DeafTawk, said, “This collaboration with Jazz is a monumental step forward in fostering inclusivity within Pakistan’s telecom sector. Jazz’s commitment to bridging communication gaps is truly commendable, and we’re thrilled to work together to ensure that deaf individuals have equal access to essential services.”
Jazz has been at the forefront of digital transformation in Pakistan. This collaboration underscores the potential of technology and innovation to create a more equitable society. DeafTawk was part of the Jazz xlr8 premium accelerator program at the National Incubation Center (NIC). The platform offers innovative online sign language services to bridge the communication gap between the deaf community and the rest of society through cutting-edge digital technology.
