FAISALABAD: A house fire caused by a laptop battery explosion claimed the lives of two people and injured seven others in Faisalabad’s Shareef Pura neighborhood on Wednesday, according to rescue officials.
The blaze occurred in a house on Satyana Road while the laptop battery was charging. Rescue officials extinguished the fire, but nine family members, including five children and two women, were affected and taken to Allied Hospital.
Hospital sources reported that two siblings, a brother and sister, succumbed to their burns, while seven others are receiving treatment.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep regret over the deaths, extending condolences to the bereaved family. She has directed the provision of top-notch medical care for those injured.
Additionally, Regional Police Officer Dr. Muhammad Abid Khan has instructed the senior superintendent of police to initiate an investigation into the incident.
