MoEA Hosts International Banking Courses, Promotes Collaboration

The Ministry of Economic Affairs (MoEA) recently organized a visit for the International Commercial Banking Course and the International Central Banking Course, in collaboration with the National Institute of Banking and Finance (NIBAF). The session provided a platform for dynamic discussions and the exchange of innovative ideas.

Chaired by the Secretary of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the meeting commenced with an overview of the Pakistan Technical Assistance Programme (PTAP) and the objectives of the courses. Emphasis was placed on the importance of international cooperation in banking education and practice.

MoEA highlighted its efforts in facilitating 85 friendly countries through short-term courses in various fields, including railways, banking, postal services, and English language proficiency. Additionally, over 50 countries receive support for long-term courses in areas such as medicine, D-pharmacy, and engineering.

Success stories from MoEA’s training initiatives were shared, showcasing the achievements of alumni who now hold key positions in their respective organizations and countries. These accomplishments underscored the effectiveness of the training programs in capacity building and professional development.

Looking ahead, MoEA expressed its commitment to expanding training opportunities into new disciplines to further enhance skills and knowledge exchange among international participants.

International participants from countries including Algeria, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Cambodia, Iran, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uganda, and Vietnam offered valuable suggestions and insights based on their extensive experience in commercial and central banking sectors.

Participants expressed gratitude to MoEA for organizing the training, with one Azerbaijani participant remarking, “This surpasses my experiences in Europe and elsewhere.” The positive feedback from participants and representatives from NIBAF highlighted the success of the meeting in fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing in the banking industry.

In closing remarks, the Secretary of MoEA commended NIBAF for its efforts in organizing the training and expressed delight in hosting esteemed participants and representatives. He reiterated the commitment to excellence in banking education and collaboration among stakeholders.
