The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has completed a hearing regarding the Quarterly Tariff Adjustment (QTA) for the period spanning October 2023 to December 2023, which marks the second quarter of FY24.
The request for this adjustment was submitted by XWDISCOS and encompasses various charges related to system operations.
Following government guidelines, the final decision issued by NEPRA and subsequently notified by the Government of Pakistan (GOP) will be applicable to all customers of distribution companies, including Karachi Electric (KE).
The forthcoming notification will outline the specific amount to be reflected in customer bills and the duration over which these charges will be applicable. Given the regulated nature of the power sector, the costs of electricity and associated charges are determined by NEPRA and communicated by the GOP. Individual Distribution Companies are unable to influence this process or enact unilateral changes.
