The National Highway Authority (NHA) has achieved a noteworthy 100% increase in its annual revenue, rising from 64 billion to 110 billion rupees, highlighting a record milestone for any government organization in the country.

This surge in revenue has also been reflected at toll plazas, where collections doubled from 32 billion to 64 billion rupees.

Federal Minister for Communications, Privatization, and Board of Investment, Abdul Aleem Khan, announced this achievement during a high-level meeting at the NHA Headquarters, where he inspected the National Traffic Operation Center. He directed officials to prepare daily reports on revenue collection and expressed satisfaction that 99% of vehicles on the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway are now utilizing the M-tag facility.

Khan emphasized the need for enhanced camera monitoring systems, ensuring data is readily available to the Secretary of Communications and the Chairman of NHA. He also called for increased public awareness about the benefits of the M-tag system, which offers time savings, theft prevention, and reduced traffic congestion.

While praising the encouraging revenue performance over the past six months, Khan proposed bonuses and financial rewards for NHA employees in recognition of their efforts.

Additionally, the Federal Minister held a follow-up video meeting with Saudi investment authorities, discussing strategies for enhancing investment in Pakistan in light of a recent Saudi delegation visit. During the discussion, the Saudi Assistant Minister for Investment invited Khan to an Expo in Saudi Arabia on November 25-26. Khan assured his commitment to facilitating investments from Saudi Arabia and ensuring the completion of relevant initiatives promptly.

The meeting also included input from the Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia, Ahmed Farooq, as well as senior officials from the Federal Commerce and Privatization Commissions.
