Reports indicate that the ICJ, holding public hearings in The Hague, will serve as the platform for Pakistan to advocate its position regarding Israeli policies concerning Palestine, particularly East Jerusalem.
Law and Justice Minister Ahmed Irfan Aslam will represent Pakistan’s concerns at the ICJ, focusing on alleged illegalities of Israel’s rule in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, including accusations of racism, genocide, and other crimes against Palestinians.
Various delegations have presented grievances against Israel at the ICJ hearings, with representatives for the Palestinians accusing Israel of illegal occupation and crimes against humanity. Israel, notably, has opted not to send any delegation to defend itself.
China passionately advocated for Palestinian justice at the ICJ, emphasizing the necessity of addressing Palestinian rights and sovereignty over occupied territories. Representatives from Ireland, Japan, and Jordan also joined in advocating for Palestinian rights at the ICJ hearing.
