The Water Corporation has announced a temporary shutdown of the old Pipri Pumping Station for maintenance work, which will disrupt water supply in several parts of the city.
According to a spokesperson, the old Pipri Pumping Station will remain closed for four days, from January 10 to January 13, while essential maintenance is carried out. During this period, water supply from the old facility will remain suspended.
The Water Corporation clarified that the new Pipri Pumping Station will continue to operate and supply water to the city. However, the temporary closure of the older facility is expected to cause water shortages in a number of areas.
Localities likely to be affected include Malir, Shah Faisal Colony and Model Town, where residents may face reduced or disrupted water supply during the maintenance period.
The corporation also said that the Landhi and Sherpao hydrants will remain temporarily closed for the duration of the maintenance work.
Residents in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements and store water in advance until the maintenance is completed and normal supply is restored.
