Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced a reduction in the electricity tariff for the industrial sector by Rs 10.69 per unit on Friday.
Under the Prime Minister’s power package aimed at enhancing the country’s industrial sector, the new electricity price for the industry and export sector is now set at Rs 34.99 per unit.
According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, this reduction will relieve industries of a burden exceeding Rs 200 billion. The package aims to make the cost of goods more competitive in the global market, thereby reducing the cost of production for industrial and agricultural products and significantly boosting exports.
