Three officials arrested in Bhati Gate sewer tragedy case
Police registered a case after a mother and daughter died falling into an open sewer manhole in Lahore’s Bhati Gate area. The incident involved a 64-year-old father whose son-in-law informed him by phone that Saadia and her daughter had fallen into the sewer line.
The police arrested Project Manager Asghar Sandhu, Safety In-charge Daniyal, and Site In-charge Ahmed Nawaz under Section 322. According to Sajid Hussain’s statement as the victim’s father, the suspects left a manhole open due to negligence, leading to the fatal incident.
The case was registered on the statement of the deceased woman’s father, with further investigation underway.
