The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared a nationwide protest scheduled for May 9 following a crucial gathering of party members.
During the parliamentary party meeting at the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad, PTI General Secretary Omar Ayub affirmed that the party would stage a peaceful and comprehensive protest across Pakistan on May 9.
The gathering, attended by members of both the National and Provincial Assemblies, senators, and party leaders from all corners of the country, saw Opposition Leader Omar Ayub addressing the attendees. He remarked on the significance of reconvening the PTI party meeting after a prolonged interval, acknowledging the hardships endured by party members, including incarceration.

Ayub reminisced on PTI founder Imran Khan’s steadfast resolve, emphasizing Khan’s commitment to persevere until the very end. He relayed Khan’s message of encouragement and admiration for the resilience displayed by PTI’s dedicated workers and leaders, urging them to stand resolute.
Additionally, the meeting deliberated on endorsing the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government’s strategy to assert its demands in Islamabad. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had earlier announced plans for a march on Islamabad and a subsequent sit-in at the center if the federal government failed to fulfill the province’s financial obligations.
Further discussions centered around finalizing the action plan for May 9, encompassing both parliamentary and political avenues.
