The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) voiced its demand for the establishment of a judicial commission in accordance with the letter penned by six judges of the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, PTI leader Raoof Hasan asserted, “The judicial commission should be constituted with sitting judges of the Supreme Court (SC).”
“We are initiating nationwide protests starting Monday, exclusively in Islamabad. Core committee decisions were made during our meeting,” Hasan elaborated.
He emphasized, “PTI is striving to enact change.”
The PTI had previously condemned the government’s decision to appoint a retired judge to head the inquiry commission.
In a statement, the PTI core committee reiterated its call for referring the matter to the Supreme Court’s larger bench.
The party stressed the importance of convening a judicial conference in accordance with the demands outlined by the high court judges.
