Caretaker Punjab cabinet has approved the provision of 7,000 electric bikes for male students and 3,000 for female students.
This groundbreaking initiative will be facilitated through the Bank of Punjab, offering interest-free and convenient terms to the beneficiaries.
The decision was finalized during the 40th session of the provincial cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi at his office on Tuesday.
Chief Minister Naqvi commended the efforts of the police, administration, and law enforcement agencies for ensuring the peaceful conduct of the general elections held on February 8.
During the session, Chief Minister Naqvi extended congratulations to the chief secretary, IG police, and others for overseeing the elections successfully, emphasizing the tranquil voting atmosphere.
He highlighted the transparent and free voting procedures that allowed citizens to elect their representatives peacefully.
Acknowledging the effective role played by the caretaker government, Chief Minister Naqvi expressed gratitude for achieving set objectives.

In addition to the electric bike initiative, the cabinet approved the formation of an appellate committee for the Punjab Charity Commission.
Furthermore, funds were allocated for establishing business facilitation centers, showcasing the government’s multifaceted approach to addressing various regional issues.
