Rainfall activities are set to increase across Sindh as a low-pressure system approaches.

Today, various parts of Sindh, including Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Nawabshah, Sanghar, and surrounding areas, recorded rain and thunderstorms.

Weather analyst Jawad Memon noted that a circulation is currently located southeast of Karachi over the Arabian Sea. As the low-pressure system over central India moves westward, rainfall is expected to intensify in many parts of Sindh.

Forecast for July 18, 2024:

  • Sindh: Moderate to heavy rain, thunderstorms, and windstorms are anticipated in several areas, particularly Tharparkar, Nagarparkar, Islamkot, Mithi, Umerkot, Thatta, Badin, Jamshoro, Jhimpir, and Nooriabad. Rain is also expected in the Mirpurkhas and Hyderabad divisions.
  • Karachi: Very hot and extremely humid conditions will persist tonight and tomorrow. Scattered thunderstorm activities are expected in the outskirts of the city, particularly in the eastern, southeastern, and northern areas. While strong thunderstorm formations are forecasted in southeastern Sindh, there is a low chance these cells might travel towards Karachi if conditions remain favorable.
