The Islamabad police have warned of potential disruptions ahead of anticipated demonstrations by religious parties. Multiple routes into the Red Zone, a designated area central to the city’s operations, will be closed. Margalla Road and the path via the Islamabad Marriott Hotel will remain accessible for entering the zone.

In a statement shared on social media, the authorities confirmed that all other entry points would be sealed off except those specifically mentioned. The closure of Fazal-e-Haq Road towards China Chowk is also in effect, as is the restriction to traffic from Polyclinic to Lal Quarter Chowk via Luqman Hakim Road. Commuters traveling on Saddar Road are advised to use an alternative route.

For G-6 residents heading southward toward F-6, they can utilize either the China Chowk underpass or Seventh Avenue to Jinnah Avenue, both of which offer access into the Red Zone. Passengers journeying from Abpara Chowk towards Serena Hotel will need to follow a different path, moving via Kashmir Chowk, Srinagar Highway, Seventh Avenue, and Margalla Road.

Citizens coming from Club Road or Bara Kahu are advised to use the route through Kashmir Chowk, Srinagar Highway, Seventh Avenue, and Margalla Road. The closures extend to all roads leading towards D-Chowk as part of a planned protest from G-6 to D-Chowk, set for today.

Earlier this week, Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan’s emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman announced nationwide protests in solidarity with Iran and against US-Israel attacks on the nation. Citizens are advised to contact the police helpline at 15 or the Traffic Helpline at 1915 for further information, while ITF FM 92.4 will provide live updates on traffic conditions.

A reminder to all travelers: ensure you have alternative routes planned as many entry points into the Red Zone will be shut down. Stay informed and prepared for potential disruptions.
