Savannah Guthrie Shares Update on Mom’s Missing Case

Savannah Guthrie’s appearance at home near Tucson has reignited discussions about her mother Nancy’s disappearance, now over a month overdue. The Today anchor was seen outside her house, where a massive memorial had formed with heartfelt messages and floral tributes left by well-wishers.

Guthrie herself laid flowers in tribute to the community’s outpouring of love for her mother. Amidst this outpouring of emotion, she made an extraordinary gesture – hugging her sister Annie and her partner, Tommaso Cioni.

The hug was particularly significant given that conspiracy theorists had accused Cioni of being involved in Nancy’s disappearance due to his last known sighting of her alive. These unfounded theories placed immense pressure on the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, which had to address these claims with a statement confirming that no suspicion rested with Cioni.

In response to the ongoing investigation, an FBI-led task force has been tasked with solving the missing person case. The task force comprises detectives from Pima County and federal agents, focusing exclusively on Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance until her whereabouts are confirmed or all leads have been exhausted.

“The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is refocusing resources to specifically target this case,” a spokesman for PCSD told Fox News Digital. “As we develop more information and resolve existing leads, the allocation of our investigative resources may change. We will continue with patrol presence in the Guthrie neighborhood to maintain public safety.”
