Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) senior leader Shehla Raza has announced her resignation from the position of President of the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF).

Confirming her decision, Raza stated that she tendered her resignation as PHF President on April 27, 2024.

Speaking to a local private TV channel on Monday, Raza revealed, “I have also forwarded my resignation to Minister IPC Dr. Ahsan Iqbal, Rana Mashood, and have also presented it to the PHF Congress.”

Raza expressed disappointment over unfulfilled promises made during government meetings, highlighting that decisions taken were not given due importance. She also noted the failure to implement a proposed committee to address PHF issues.

Further, Raza cited the non-action on appointing Haider Hussain as Secretary of PHF, along with violations of the federation’s constitution and laws. She disclosed that during a meeting, she and others offered their resignations, but were dissuaded with assurances that their concerns would be addressed.
