A disturbing incident at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH) has come to light, where a towel was allegedly left in a gynecology patient’s stomach following a caesarean section on June 26.
The patient, admitted on June 25, delivered a baby girl via C-section and was discharged two days later. She returned to the hospital with severe abdominal pain, but initial hospital tests showed no issues. The patient’s family then sought private medical advice, which revealed the presence of a towel in her stomach through ultrasound and additional tests.
A KTH spokesperson questioned the reliability of the private lab tests but confirmed that a formal inquiry into the incident will be conducted.
