Uzbekistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Alisher Tukhtaev, met with the Prime Minister at the Prime Minister House, where discussions focused on strengthening bilateral ties and economic cooperation.
The Prime Minister extended warm greetings to Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended during his visit to Tashkent last month. He expressed satisfaction with the progress made during the visit, including the establishment of a High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and the signing of key agreements and MOUs across various sectors.
He emphasized Pakistan’s keen interest in collaboration with Uzbekistan in mining and minerals, railways—including the Trans-Afghan Railway project—special economic zones, banking, tourism, culture, and renewable energy. Additionally, he stressed the need for a clear roadmap to boost bilateral trade to $2 billion, as agreed by both leaders.
Ambassador Tukhtaev reaffirmed President Mirziyoyev’s commitment to strengthening ties and translating strong political relations into economic cooperation. He also confirmed that the Uzbek President had accepted an invitation to visit Pakistan later this year, with dates to be finalized through diplomatic channels.
