In Quetta and Barkhan, Balochistan, security forces conducted two coordinated counter-terrorism operations. The operations resulted in a significant loss of life for terrorists while protecting communities from further threats.
According to officials, both raids were executed on the basis of solid intelligence gathered by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD). In Quetta, where law enforcers launched an operation, militants responded with gunfire, leading to a shootout that claimed eight lives among them and three security personnel who were injured but are now receiving medical care.
The CTD stated that large quantities of weapons and ammunition were seized from the terrorists’ hideout. It is believed these weapons belonged to a proscribed organization.
The second operation in Barkhan district followed similar tactics, with security forces responding to an intelligence tip-off. Six militants were killed during this engagement, again underscoring the relentless efforts of law enforcement.
Following these operations, local areas have been secured, and search teams are actively combing through the region to apprehend any remaining terrorists or their accomplices who may be hiding in the area.
These coordinated actions underscore the commitment of security forces in Balochistan to maintaining public safety by targeting terrorist threats wherever they arise.
