Five children, including two minors severely injured, have been hospitalized after being attacked by an explosive-laden quadcopter in Lakki Marwat’s Takhtikhel area. Police officials confirmed that the incident took place within the Shaheed Asmatullah Khan Khattak police station’s jurisdiction. Sub-Inspector Akhto Jan stated that a search operation has already begun to locate those responsible for the attack, which involved explosives dropped from above by an unknown source.

The injured children, with five minors in total affected, are currently being treated at local hospitals. Two of the boys were transported to Bannu’s hospital due to their critical condition; the remaining three girls have been taken to the Serai Naurang town tehsil headquarters hospital. SI Jan emphasized that police have already mobilized a team to investigate the scene and gather any evidence they can find.

This latest incident echoes an earlier attack from last month, where eight boys were injured in Takhti, another rural area of Lakki Marwat. At that time, a police official revealed how “terrorists” had targeted a football ground, dropping explosives via quadcopter during play. The explosion resulted in injuries to the children who happened upon this remote location.

The repeated attacks have raised concerns about the security situation in the region and prompted renewed calls for greater measures to protect both civilians and sporting facilities from potential terrorist threats. Authorities are now intensifying their efforts to ensure such incidents do not occur again, aiming to maintain a safe environment for community activities.
