Adrien Brody, aged 52, recently made headlines by announcing his Broadway debut alongside Tessa Thompson in “The Fear of 13,” a production that delves into the true story of Nick Yarris, who spent over two decades on death row before DNA evidence exonerated him.
Brody will play Nick Yarris, while Tessa Thompson portrays Jackie, a volunteer who visits the prisoner in jail. In 1982, Yarris was wrongfully sentenced for rape and murder charges that he did not commit. After spending nearly two decades behind bars, his innocence was finally declared by DNA evidence in 2004.
Brody, speaking with PEOPLE magazine, expressed his excitement about making this dream come true: “I started doing theater as a teenager before I ventured into film work, so it’s been quite a journey. To finally be on Broadway feels like another significant milestone.”
“He just loves the intimacy of theater,” said Brody, who starred in Super Bowl LX commercial for TurboTax and is known for his roles in movies such as “The Pianist,” “Detachment,” “Predators,” “Splice,” “The Village,” and more.
