Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal stated at the China-Pakistan Political Parties Forum that relations between Pakistan and China are robust due to mutual trust and shared strategic interests. The forum was held on the 75th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations, highlighting political unity despite domestic differences.

Ahsan Iqbal thanked the International Department of the Communist Party of China for organizing the event, praising its role in fostering dialogue and long-term cooperation. He noted that Pakistan’s commitment to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) remains strong, with a new strategic level achieved through an Action Plan reflecting shared goals of development, connectivity, and prosperity.

The Action Plan has elevated bilateral relations, according to Ahsbal, who highlighted CPEC as a flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative. It has transformed Pakistan’s economic landscape by addressing energy shortages, improving infrastructure, reviving Gwadar, and boosting investor confidence.

Ahsan Iqbal outlined the “Five Corridors” framework for future cooperation—Growth, Livelihood, Innovation, Green, and Inclusive Regional Development—which aligns with Pakistan’s economic transformation plan, URAAN Pakistan. He proposed establishing “Five Political Corridors” between the IDCPC and Pakistani political parties to ensure long-term support for CPEC 2.0.

The minister emphasized strengthening youth engagement, education, innovation, and research cooperation to secure the future of Pakistan-China friendship. Ahsan Iqbal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to completing all ongoing and future CPEC projects on time and ensuring full security for Chinese nationals and companies in Pakistan.
