Renowned anchorperson Imran Riaz Khan was apprehended from his residence in a private housing society near Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Area.
The circumstances surrounding Khan’s arrest remain undisclosed, leaving both his family and the public in the dark about the reasons behind this sudden development.
Confirming the news, Khan’s brother, Usman Riaz, took to social media to share the distressing situation, prompting discussions and calls for transparency regarding the circumstances leading to the arrest.
Earlier, the Federal Investigation Agency’s Cybercrime Wing had summoned Khan and fellow YouTuber Asad Toor over their alleged involvement in an anti-judiciary campaign on social media platforms.
Both Khan and Toor have been directed to appear before the FIA Cybercrime Wing on February 23, following the issuance of formal notices by the agency. The FIA’s action comes in response to their purported participation in activities deemed detrimental to the integrity and independence of the judiciary.
Additionally, it was reported that law enforcement agencies have arrested Abdul Wasay for orchestrating a threatening campaign against Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa. Wasay allegedly engaged in a malicious campaign targeting the CJP on social media platforms, including direct threats and character assassination.
