All parties Conference held in Muzaffarabad
An All Parties Conference (APC) was held in Muzaffarabad to discuss a joint strategy and opinion regarding demands of Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC). The conference, attended by almost all political and religious parties except PTI and JAAC leadership who boycotted despite being invited, lasted for more than six hours.
Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore addressed the media before the conference. He stated that the issue was discussed in detail and decided not to support such an action without due legislative process through chosen representatives of the people. The AJAC government requested JAAC leadership to postpone their protest on June 9 for meaningful deliberations in the legal committees, but they turned down the request.
The conference unanimously rejected the top-most demand of abolishing refugee seats in the AJK Legislative Assembly, stating that the decision can only be taken through legislative representatives in the Assembly.
