The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) has arrested Kamran Qureshi, father of Armaghan, the prime suspect in the Mustafa Amir murder case. The arrest took place during a raid in Khayaban-e-Momin, Gizri.

According to AVCC officials, Qureshi was found in possession of 200 grams of narcotics, a pistol, a magazine, and bullets. A case has been registered against him, and further investigations are underway.

Earlier, Qureshi was thrown out of the courtroom after a heated argument with his son during a hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court. The dispute arose when Armaghan’s lawyer, Advocate Abid Zaman Khan, refused to represent him, stating he had no agreement with Kamran Qureshi. Armaghan also distanced himself, declaring, “I don’t want to meet my father; I won’t talk to him.”

As the argument escalated, Qureshi caused a commotion, insisting that his son should disown him if he no longer recognized him as his father. The situation led to court officials ordering his removal, with police officers escorting him out.

The court has extended Armaghan’s physical remand until March 24 in both the Mustafa Amir murder case and the journalist firing case. The Anti-Terrorism Court has also requested a progress report at the next hearing. Previously, Karachi’s ATC included Armaghan’s confessional statement in the prosecution file.
