Armed Men Rob College Students in Karachi Van Near New Town

Armed robbers targeted a transport van carrying students at Jinnah Medical and Dental College in Karachi on Thursday morning. The incident occurred near Medicare, within New Town Police Station’s jurisdiction.

Three suspects on a motorcycle entered the van, threatened passengers with weapons, and stole four mobile phones, one student’s bag, and another student’s jewelry before fleeing.

IG Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho was alerted to the incident by Additional IG Karachi Azad Khan. He ordered an investigation into the SHO and security personnel in the area. The police are working to identify suspects based on victims’ and witnesses’ statements, but no arrests have been made yet.

On Wednesday, a major operation against drug addicts took place in Malir district’s various localities under IG Sindh Police Javed Alam Odho’s directives. The crackdown aimed to protect young people from the dangers of drugs and was supervised by SSP Dr Abdul Khaliq.
