Australia Offers Support After Nine-Year-Old’s Death in Chakwal Firing Incident

Australian High Commission issues statement on death of Hania Ahmed.

The Australian government expressed condolences to the family of nine-year-old Hania Ahmed, an Australian citizen who died in a firing incident in Chakwal. The statement conveyed deep sorrow over the loss of an innocent life.

Consular assistance provided to affected family; support extended to two injured Australians in Pakistan.

Australian Department of Foreign Affairs is in contact with the family and providing necessary help.

Prosecutor General has called for a comprehensive review of the Chakwal case to ensure thorough assessment.

According to First Information Report (FIR), Hania’s father Adeel Ahmed stated he is an Australian resident who arrived in Chakwal on June 10 with his wife and children.

He said two unidentified armed men threatened them at gunpoint before taking away jewellery. A gunshot was heard, followed by suspects opening fire.

Adeel Ahmed drove towards Darbar to escape but attackers continued firing while chasing the vehicle. Both Hania and her son Affan sustained serious injuries.

Hania was immediately taken to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ), where she succumbed to her injuries.
