Wayne County authorities are urging residents to stay indoors and ensure their homes are secure as they continue searching for a suspect allegedly involved in a suspicious death. Law enforcement agencies, including those from southern and central Utah counties, have been actively investigating the incident.

On Wednesday evening, officials issued safety advisories warning residents about potential threats, emphasizing heightened vigilance and security measures. Despite not disclosing specifics regarding the victim or cause of death, law enforcement advised citizens to remain vigilant and adopt extra precautions such as keeping lights on, locking doors, and staying at home if possible.

Schools in Wayne County have canceled classes for Thursday out of concern for student and public safety, with a promise from the school district that counselors will be available should they return to session. The district plans to keep students supported moving forward.

In response to ongoing security measures, authorities are searching for a 2022 white Subaru Outback with Utah license plate U560YF. Anyone who has observed this vehicle within the previous 24 hours is encouraged to contact local dispatch at 435-896-6471.

As news continues to unfold, residents are being advised to be extra cautious in their communities.
