
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Chairman of Pakistan Peoples Party, met Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif at Parliament House on Monday. During their brief meeting, Bilawal congratulated her on her son’s recent marriage.
Maryam and Bilawal discussed the ongoing security situation in depth. They addressed threats from both regional conflicts involving Israel and Iran, as well as aggression along Pakistan’s Afghanistan border.
Earlier that day, Maryam had convened a high-level law and order meeting. Officials highlighted the current security environment during the session. She directed authorities to intensify surveillance against individuals listed under the Fourth Schedule and other active elements within Punjab.
In response to heightened tensions with Israel, Maryam ordered further surveillance on key regions and placed them on alert. Additionally, she instructed that stringent security measures be implemented at shopping malls, major markets, and public gathering spots like stadiums and mosques across the province.
The chief minister also directed law enforcement agencies in all districts to remain vigilant and closely monitor suspicious individuals. She mandated enhanced inspections at entry and exit points for heightened vigilance. Finally, Maryam decided to deploy more personnel at crucial commercial areas and increase search operations in sensitive locations to bolster security measures.
