Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni Fail to Reach Settlement Agreement

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni remain at odds as they struggle to settle their sexual harassment dispute. The Gossip Girl actress, now a seasoned Hollywood veteran, has escalated her legal battle against her former collaborator, It Ends With Us director Justin Baldoni and his production company, Wayfarer Studios.

The pair initially attempted to resolve the issue through mandated mediation conducted by Magistrate Judge Sarah L. Cave in a six-hour session earlier this week. Despite these efforts, Blake’s attorney, Bryan Freedman, indicated that the meeting did not yield a resolution, setting up the possibility of trial. According to Variety, Freedman expects the case to proceed to court.

“When we got there, it was pretty clear from the start they were going to go to trial,” said Freedman in a video interview shared on social media platforms like X (now known as Twitter). “We’re looking forward to it… and I do think this is something that will move forward. We’ll see what happens.”

In December 2024, Blake filed her initial complaint against Justin for sexual harassment related to an incident at the set of their collaborative movie. However, Justin countered with his own suit in June 2025, accusing Blake and her husband Ryan Reynolds of extortion and defamation, a case that was dismissed.

Recently, during a court hearing, Justin’s legal team argued that the alleged misconduct was merely a creative disagreement rather than grounds for harassment. In response, Blake’s side insisted that Baldoni had consistently acted inappropriately and crossed professional boundaries throughout their collaboration on multiple projects.

As of now, Blake Lively is seeking an astronomical $160 million in damages from Justin Baldoni and his production company. The stakes are high as this saga continues to unfold, with both parties determined to have their points heard through a potentially long legal process.
