Bob Odenkirk Discovers Royal Link to King Charles

Bob Odenkirk, renowned for his role in Better Call Saul, uncovers an astonishing familial tie to none other than King Charles, as revealed on the popular PBS series Finding Your Roots, hosted by Henry Louis Gates Jr.

During a preview of the upcoming episode, Odenkirk, 61, is visibly taken aback upon discovering his 11th cousin’s relationship with the historical monarch. Known also for his portrayal in Breaking Bad, Odenkirk humorously brushes off the revelation as “crazy.”

This newfound connection traces back to Odenkirk’s paternal lineage, a part of his family history he confesses knowing little about, given his father’s absence since his teenage years.

Gates Jr. discloses that Odenkirk’s father’s fifth great-grandfather had an unconventional birth, born out of wedlock to Maria Catharina Bein and the Duke of Plön.

Despite the intriguing royal lineage, Odenkirk maintains his American perspective, asserting, “I’m an American. I’m not a monarchist. I don’t believe in, uh, that.” He further delves into his views, highlighting the complexities inherent in societal structures revolving around monarchies and hereditary leadership.
