BYD, the world’s No. 1 NEV brand, in partnership with Mega Motor Company (MMC), is showcasing the next chapter of new energy mobility in Pakistan at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026, bringing together electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles alongside the introduction of a new brand and a range of genuine BYD accessories designed to enhance the ownership experience. At the centre of the showcase is the BYD SEALION 6, which is planned to become BYD’s first locally assembled vehicle in Pakistan, with production targeted to commence in Q4 2026.

The entire lineup at PAPS 2026 features the BYD ATTO 2 – Pakistan’s most popular electric vehicle; the BYD SHARK 6 Anniversary Edition in Outback Orange; the BYD SEALION 6 – Pakistan’s first locally assembled BYD; and BYD’s luxury technology brand, DENZA, with the B8. Together, the lineup showcases BYD’s confidence in the Pakistan market, highlighting the breadth of its New Energy portfolio and the growing choice available to consumers beyond conventional powertrains.

The BYD SEALION 6 represents a particularly significant step in this evolution, building on the global success of BYD’s Super DM (Dual Mode) technology, which has surpassed 8.5 million vehicles sold worldwide. Powered by BYD’s Super DM-I (Dual Mode – intelligence) platform, its latest-generation intelligent hybrid system, the SEALION 6 combines the benefits of electric driving with the flexibility of a plug-in hybrid, offering a total range of up to 1,100 km. Designed to deliver an EV-led driving experience, Super DM-i intelligently manages electric and hybrid power to achieve strong fuel efficiency without compromising performance. The technology is designed to address the practical realities of everyday driving in Pakistan, providing efficient electric mobility while reducing range concerns on longer journeys.

The model’s planned local assembly will commence from Q4 2026 and will mark an important transition for BYD-MMC, from bringing global NEV innovation to Pakistan to establishing a local production footprint. It also reflects the broader evolution of Pakistan’s automotive market, as consumer demand expands from conventional vehicles towards a wider spectrum of electrified mobility solutions.

Pakistan has shown strong potential for new energy mobility, and the response to BYD since our entry into the market has reinforced our confidence in the country, said Lei Jian, Country Head – BYD Pakistan. PAPS provides an opportunity to demonstrate not only the breadth of our current technology and products, but also where we are heading. The planned local assembly of the BYD Sealion 6 is an important step in building a long-term presence in Pakistan and supporting the country’s transition towards new energy mobility.

Danish Khaliq, VP Sales & Strategy, BYD Pakistan – Mega Motor Company (MMC), said: Over the last two years, the Pakistani mobility market has shown us that consumers are ready to embrace new technologies and experience what the world has to offer. Our PAPS lineup reflects that evolution — from pure electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids to the introduction of a new luxury brand from the BYD universe. The BYD SEALION 6 takes this evolution one step further by bringing localisation into the equation. As we move towards local assembly, we are not simply expanding our portfolio; we are helping shape what the next generation of mobility in Pakistan can look like.

BYD’s showcase will be available to experience at the Pakistan Auto Show (PAPS) 2026 from 18 September to 20 September in Hall no. 2 at the Expo Center in Lahore. As part of the PAPS 2026 offer, all orders booked at the BYD pavilion during the show will be eligible for 1st Year Free Service, subject to applicable terms and conditions.
