Effective April 30, applicants for permanent residence in Canada will face a 12% increase in fees, as per the latest adjustments to the Immigrant and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR).
The fee hike, tied to the Consumer Price Index for Canada, sees the application cost rising from $515 to $575. Similar to the U.S. green card process, this fee is a crucial step towards Canadian citizenship.
Notably, Canada exempts dependent children accompanying applicants from these fees. Additionally, authorities have disclosed that costs for various immigration streams will also see an uptick.
