Carrick Emphasizes Calm as Man Utd Faces Fulham Despite Impressive Start

Michael Carrick has warned his Manchester United players against getting carried away by their recent impressive wins against Manchester City and Arsenal ahead of their match against Fulham this weekend.

Carrick’s interim tenure as manager has started on a high with back-to-back victories, including a thrilling 3-2 win at Premier League leaders Arsenal following an earlier 2-0 triumph over the same opponents. After these surprising results, United will be considered favourites to overcome Fulham in their home match.

A third successive victory would tie Carrick’s best league run under interim management and give him until the end of the season to stabilize his position at Old Trafford. The manager expressed that while they understand previous successes and failures, the team needs to focus on the upcoming game against Fulham without complacency.

Carrick also addressed United’s transfer market activity, mentioning that the club is keeping an eye on the deadline ahead. The interim manager highlighted the importance of a key player, Patrick Dorgu, who suffered a hamstring injury during the 3-2 win at Arsenal and will be out for a period of time. Reports suggested his recovery could last up to ten weeks.

“Informal news from United suggests that Pat Dorgu, who scored the second goal against Manchester City earlier this month, may miss several weeks due to a hamstring issue,” Carrick confirmed. “While it’s not completely certain yet, we’re being cautious and waiting for further medical assessments.”

In addition to these transfer concerns, the manager maintained an optimistic attitude, stressing that United can still perform at their best despite recent setbacks. Fourth-placed Manchester United will take on Fulham in their next match, with Carrick planning to build on his team’s recent performances.
