US President Bill Clinton testified before the House Oversight Committee recently about his alleged connection to Jeffrey Epstein, a late sex offender. In a videotaped deposition, Clinton stated under oath that Donald Trump mentioned Epstein during a 2002 or 2003 golf tournament after Clinton had left office and more than a decade prior to Trump’s presidential run.
In the recording, Clinton explained that Trump remarked he had “some great times” with Epstein before their relationship ended. The video clip went viral on social media platforms, with users sharing it widely and interpreting Clinton’s expressions. A single X user uploaded footage showing Clinton smiling while looking back through old Epstein photographs and nodding over memories, with his attorney quickly snatching them away.
The clip amassed over 15 million views within hours of its posting. Critics pointed out that Clinton appeared to be smiling as he looked at documents that evoked recollections of his purported time with Epstein. However, no one has independently confirmed whether this was indeed the case or if there were other explanations for Clinton’s facial expressions during the deposition. The incident sparked renewed debate about Clinton’s public persona and potential biases in government testimonies.
