Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has reiterated his government’s resolve to equip young people with market-oriented skills and ensure access to dignified employment, describing youth empowerment as a key pillar of the province’s long-term development strategy.

The chief minister made these remarks while chairing a review meeting on the progress of the Chief Minister Youth Skills Development Programme. The meeting focused on the pace of implementation, existing challenges, and the programme’s future direction.

During the briefing, officials highlighted slow progress by certain private firms responsible for implementing various components of the initiative. Expressing strong dissatisfaction, the chief minister directed authorities to take immediate action against the underperforming firms and ordered a comprehensive audit of funds already released.

He stressed that any negligence or delay in projects linked to the future of the youth would not be tolerated.

The meeting was also informed that under a Government-to-Government (G2G) framework, B-TEVTA has formally applied for a licence to operate as an Overseas Employment Promoter. Once approved, the authority will engage directly with foreign embassies to facilitate international employment opportunities for skilled youth from Balochistan.

Addressing participants, the chief minister noted that overseas employment would help young people improve their own and their families’ economic conditions while also contributing valuable foreign exchange to the country.
