Punjab’s Eid Cleanliness Operation Completes with Record Waste Disposal
The Punjab Information Minister, Afzma Bukhari, announced that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz approved a Rs10,000 reward for each Suthra Punjab worker involved in the successful completion of the Eid cleanliness operation. The province-wide campaign saw 184,000 workers and 60,000 vehicles deployed over three days to dispose of 360,000 tonnes of animal waste.
Rose water, phenyl, and lime were used to mask odors and maintain hygiene during the operation, which covered all major routes from Lahore to Attock and Multan to Rahim Yar Khan. The Suthra Punjab helpline achieved a 100 percent complaint resolution rate throughout the Eid holidays, ensuring public satisfaction with the cleanliness campaign’s success.
