Dennis Quaid has made bold statements about US politics and Hollywood’s perception of it in a recent interview with Fox News Digital.
Quaid expressed that there is a “double standard” in the industry when performers express support for political figures. He specifically mentioned President Donald Trump, stating, “There’s either ‘F Trump’ from the other side or ‘I love Trump’ from a few of us who speak about it.”
The actor also highlighted this double standard as reflecting broader societal shifts, saying, “Of course, there’s a double standard, but there’s a double standard on everything. You’ve got common sense and then you’ve got some kind of whipped-up scenario where, you know, it might be true that I could compete in women’s sports or whatever.”
Quaid recently had firsthand experience with a high-stakes military operation, which he described as “pretty amazing.” He noted the stark reality of the situation, saying, “With the military guys, they’re at their radar screens or whatever. The nuclear football is just sitting there, and it was something else.”
