Dutch-Punjabi singer and songwriter Imran Khan performed a private concert in DHA, Creek Club in Karachi over the weekend. He headlined his first show in his home town since rising to fame with his debut single Ni Nachleh in 2007 as an international artist.
Since then, Imran Khan has been closely associated primarily with Punjabi-language and hip hop music. Signed by Prestige Records in 2007, he released his first album Unforgettable featuring hits like Amplifier and Bewafa that hit the top charts.
For Millennials and Gen Z, Imran Khan serves as a nostalgic bridge to their past, with his music often linked to late-night drives, school memories, early crushes, and feelings of youth’s limitless potential. He shared a video during his performance of “Bewafa,” facing the audience where he emphasized memorable lyrics.
Commentators praised his artistry, noting that one song could have such lasting impact. They expressed admiration for Khan’s ability to resonate with generations long after initial exposure, calling him a legend and an enduring favorite.
Other artists also joined the show, including Pakistani rapper Faris Shafi and indie band Artists AUR, before Imran took to perform. His next performance is scheduled at Global Village in Lahore on February 6th.
Digital creator Aylasworld captured this moment for social media, highlighting Karachi’s healing power through artistry like Khan’s.
